The following student position is a part of IBM Canada's EPIC (Employment Pathways to Interns & Co-ops) Student Program. This position is only open to students registered in a Canadian University or College program, who have completed a minimum of 2 years of their degree or diploma program, and who must be returning to full-time study upon the completion of the temporary IBM work term.

*This Student Position resides in Ottawa, Ontario and is a 4 or 8 (co-op) month work term commencing May, 2017.

The following job responsibilities for Cloud Software Developer include:

We are seeking innovative students looking for a full semester of challenge in an exciting and high paced environment in IBM Cloud. Your role will be a combination of software development, DevOps and testing. You will contribute to the design, implementation and testing of deploying new features, functions and integrations for the IBM Cloud Executive Dashboard. Candidates should be highly motivated, enthusiastic, and able to work under minimal guidance with demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills. Your collaboration and communication skills will be fundamental to the overall team success of the projects you work on.

  • Designing and implementing server-side and UI features
  • Writing solid unit and integration tests
  • Fixing bugs and refining existing tests
  • Managing build promotions to dev, stage and production environments
  • Reviewing code changes from external teams
  • Authoring and refining existing documentation
  • Communicating with external teams to answer questions

  • Currently enrolled in a Computer Science/Computer Engineering program (or related technical discipline) is mandatory
  • Experience with object-oriented design and coding skills Go, C++, Java or C#)
  • Demonstrated fundamentals in problem solving, algorithm design and complexity analysis
  • Demonstrated personal interest in learning, researching, and creating new technologies
  • Demonstrated attention to details, inventive, able to work in a fast-paced environment
